HUDSON SCOTT TRIANGLE

We’re getting into the weekend groove with South London multi-instrumentalist Hudson Scott today, with his adventurous new single ‘Triangle’. Coming in just under four minutes, you could easily get lost in the flowing lines of funk bass, hopping drums, woozy guitars, a bursting horn section, feeling that the end has come all too soon. As a long-term musician in the industry, Scott has worked with George Fitzgerald, Foals and Songhoy Blues (to mention a few), but it’s been through his own songwriting endeavours that Scott has risen to the top. ‘Triangle’ shows a wide knowledge of instrumentation and how the various interactions can really bring a piece to life, easily attributed to his background in jazz theory. As with past tracks like ‘Gone’, ‘Get Down’ and ‘Panning For Gold’, it’s not only the London musician’s experience on show, it’s a certain pop sensibility that compels the listener to get up and dance. - Hannah Thacker
